GATHERING THE FAITHFUL TO WORSHIP

PRELUDE

WELCOME AND RECOGNITION OF FIRST TIME VISITORS

*GREETING ONE ANOTHER IN CHRIST

PRAYER OF CONFESSION   (Begin with silent confession)

Heavenly Father, all of us possess misguided thoughts. Our desire is to have our own way, and all believe that our way is the correct path to take. Forgive us of our lack of true concern for  those of this world that  have no place to call home, for those who struggle to find even a tiny bite of nourishment, and for those whom no one calls “friend”. Hear us in confessing our failure to love you, and in our omission of loving our neighbor. Have mercy on us. Amen.

CHORAL AND CONGREGATION RESPONSE

Into my heart, Into my heart, Come into my heart, Lord Jesus. Come in today, Come in to stay, Come into my heart, Lord Jesus.

*HYMN                                  “We Have Come Into His House”                           Hymn # 9

*INVOCATION/THE LORD’S PRAYER

Joyful, Joyful, all adore you, God of glory, Lord of love. Our hearts unfold like flowers before you, opening us to your Son above. Bring the wellspring to us of the joy of living, and to the ocean depth of happy rest. Teach us how to love each other, lift us in your joy divine. Our prayer is sounded in the words Jesus showed us; “Our Father who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For thine is the kingdom and the power and the glory, forever. Amen.”

*GLORIA PATRI

“Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Ghost; as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.”

PRESENTATION OF GOD’S TITHE AND OUR OFFERINGS

*AFFIRMATION OF OUR FAITH          The Apostles’ Creed (Ecumenical)

I believe in God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth. I believe in Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, our Lord, who was conceived by the Holy Spirit, born of the Virgin Mary, suffered under Pontius Pilate, was crucified, died, and was buried; He descended into hell. On the third day He rose again; He ascended into heaven; He is seated at the right hand of the Father, and He will come to judge the living and the dead. I believe in the Holy Spirit, the holy catholic Church, the communion of saints, the forgiveness of sins, the resurrection of the body, and the life everlasting. Amen.

*CHARGE AND BENEDICTION

*CHORAL RESPONSE

Out of my heart, out of my heart, shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus. Shine out today, shine out always, shine out of my heart, Lord Jesus.
